Lift Logic commenced operating in 1997 and provides a range of services to assist the owners and managers of lifts and escalators. These services have been modified over the years to reflect changes in Electrical and Workplace Health & Safety legislation.
Unlike some organisations providing inspections on lifts & escalators, Lift Logic is a licenced Electrical Contractor as required by the Electrical Safety Act for organisations accessing or testing low voltage electrical installations such as lifts & escalators.
As legislation has changed over the years, Lift Logic’s approach has changed. Prior to lift industry self regulation in 1992, lift inspections were carried out annually by government lift inspectors. This inspection process was focused on safety and only paid cursory attention to equipment condition.
The government lift inspector had significant authority in issuing directives that does not exist with non government inspections. The government inspection process was subjective and “their word was law ”.
A different approach is now required to inspections that removes much of the subjective element. A documented inspection process is now required focusing on safety, condition of the equipment and operational reliability.
Lift Logic uses a number of techniques that significantly remove the subjective element from our inspections. Reports are supported by photographs, thermograhic scanning (infrared images), power supply analysis and oil sampling. Oil analysis is carried out by ALS Ltd.
